In February 2020 I flew to Cambodia to be part of the Advancing Life initiative whose mission is to break cycles of poverty abuse and suffering. I really didn't know what I would be doing other than joining like-minded people who had flown in from many parts of the world whose "soul purpose" was to be a force for good partnering Vision Cambodia.
That alone was a gift to be with these people whose generosity and spirit for others is something I will never forget along with friends made for life. Chantha started Vision Cambodia and is a one of a kind human being whose purpose is to lift the lives and give hope to as many people as he can by providing clean water, education and growth opportunities and of course he can't do it alone.
There are 5 million people who don't have access to clean drinking water and the impact is devastating. Lives are lost of all ages daily and any medical expenses to save a life keeps them in a cycle of poverty beyond what we can imagine. These people have nothing, barely enough food to eat, and a rough platform with a roof over it to call home and yet they still smile.
In June 2020, I took on raising money for a well and changing lives "one well at a time". Thank you for all of your generosity of spirit and funds, together we have provided 15 wells to date with life-changing outcomes, not only for the allocated family but the surrounding families who also access clean drinking water. One well provides for 80 people. The families chosen have the most challenging circumstances, injuries from the civil war that has left them physically handicapped, to families of ill health and the worst poverty.
If you would like to contribute, any donation of choice makes a difference, some people have donated a whole well, others are part of a collective contribution, in other words, you donate what works for you.
